LONDON – British pop sensation Charli XCX is set to continue her Brat era dominance at the Brit Awards on Saturday, entering the ceremony as the most-nominated artist. Fresh off her Grammy victories, the singer is poised for another major milestone in her career.
Earlier this month, the 32-year-old secured her first three Grammy wins, including Best Dance/Electronic Album for her groundbreaking sixth studio album Brat and Best Dance Pop Recording for the hit single Von Dutch. Now, with five Brit nominations, Charli XCX is in the spotlight once again.
A Big Night for Charli XCX
Charli XCX is nominated for Artist of the Year, Best Pop Act, Best Dance Act, Song of the Year for Guess featuring Billie Eilish, and the prestigious Album of the Year award for Brat. She already clinched the Songwriter of the Year title earlier this week, joining the ranks of past winners like Ed Sheeran and Raye.
Her nominations reflect a groundbreaking year for the artist, with Brat becoming a cultural movement. The album’s infectious electronic-pop tracks fueled the “brat summer” trend, celebrating self-love, confidence, and bold fashion statements. The term “Brat” was even recognized as the 2024 Collins Word of the Year, signifying a self-assured and independent attitude.
Tough Competition for Album of the Year
While Charli XCX is a strong contender, she faces stiff competition for Album of the Year. Dua Lipa’s critically acclaimed Radical Optimism, Ezra Collective’s Dance, No One’s Watching, The Cure’s Songs Of A Lost World, and The Last Dinner Party’s debut album Prelude To Ecstasy are all vying for the prestigious prize.
This marks a historic moment for The Cure, as they receive their first Brit Awards nominations in over 30 years. The legendary rock band, which won Best British Video in 1990 and Best British Group in 1991, last appeared in the nominations in 1993 for Friday I’m In Love.
Beatles’ First Brit Nomination in Decades
In a historic nod, The Beatles’ track Now And Then—a song originally written and sung by John Lennon and later completed by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr using George Harrison’s recordings—has been nominated for Song of the Year. This marks the band’s first Brit nomination since 1977 when Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band won Best British Album.
Other Song of the Year nominees include Dua Lipa’s Training Season, Coldplay’s Feelslikeimfallinginlove, Jade Thirlwall’s Angel Of My Dreams, KSI’s Thick Of It featuring Trippie Redd, Myles Smith’s Stargazing, and Sam Ryder’s You’re Christmas to Me.
The category also features Stormzy and Chase & Status’ Backbone, Ella Henderson and Rudimental’s Alibi, Central Cee and Lil Baby’s Band4band, and other top-charting hits.
More Stars in the Spotlight
Dua Lipa, Ezra Collective, and The Last Dinner Party each follow with four nominations, while rising star Myles Smith has three nominations, including 2025 Rising Star. Lipa and Charli XCX will compete for Artist of the Year against Central Cee, Fred Again.., Jamie XX, Nia Archives, Rachel Chinouriri, Sam Fender, Michael Kiwanuka, and Beabadoobee.
For International Artist of the Year, nominees include Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift. They will face off against Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, The Creator, Nigerian star Asake, and US singers Benson Boone and Adrianne Lenker.

Fans can expect electrifying performances from Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Fender, Myles Smith, and Teddy Swims. The Last Dinner Party, Lola Young, Ezra Collective, and Jorja Smith will also take the stage at The O2 Arena in London.
Comedian Jack Whitehall will host the Brit Awards, which will be broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX from 8:15 PM GMT on Saturday, March 1.
