Bilingual Signage Honors Bangladeshi Community
In 2022, Transport for London (TfL) added bilingual signs at Whitechapel station. The signs are in both English and Bengali. Whitechapel has the largest Bangladeshi community in the UK. The signs honor their contributions.
John Biggs, the mayor of Tower Hamlets, supported the move. He said it showed respect for the Bangladeshi community in Whitechapel.
