Mission Statement

The mission of the Coleman ISD Foundation, an independent, non-profit corporation, is to seek, acquire, preserve and distribute funds to further quality education by providing scholarships and supporting programs that can not be provided for with tax dollars or funded by the Coleman Independent School District.

2009-2010 CISD Foundation Scholarship Recipients
The Coleman Independent School District Foundation Scholarship recipients for the 2009-2010 year are from left to right Michael Watson, Reagan Barr, Trey Casey.


Our funds have provided scholarships to graduating CHS Seniors, calculators to the high school,
docking stations for CHS faculty, funds to the Art program at CISD (photo below), a Math workshop from a consultant in Abilene, cameras, risers, motivational speaker as well as numerous other items.

Objectives of the Foundation

A foundation is a third party, non-profit organization created solely to support a community and the public schools.  It launches motivation and brokers relationships focused on school improvement.

  • Broaden support for public education

  • Inform the community about school challenges and strengths

  • Break down the isolation of public schools and community

  • Restore and build confidence in public schools

  • Develop initiatives to enhance and support schools

  • Independent third party intermediator for schools

  • Serve as a liaison between the public schools and community.
